We are pleased to announce the publication of ED-349 “Interoperability Standard for Data Exchange for A-SMGCS“.

The primary scope of WG-41 “A-SMGCS“ is to address the functionalities of Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control Systems (A-SMGCS), supporting their implementation in line with European regulatory requirements and the latest developments from SESAR and EUROCONTROL.

ED-349 contains interoperability requirements for A-SMGCS and specifies system and interface characteristics for designers, installers, manufacturers, service providers and users of systems intended for operational use at aerodromes. The standard is based on existing and proven installations and the latest research developments, and is intended to support the implementation of A-SMGCS in accordance with aerodrome operational requirements.
