We are pleased to announce the publication of ED-292A “MASPS for Runway Weather Information Systems”.
The primary scope of WG-109 “Runway Weather Information Systems” is to develop Minimum Aviation System Performance Standards (MASPS) for Runway Weather Information Systems (RWIS), supporting the implementation of ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) and EASA regulations related to the management, monitoring, assessment, and reporting of runway surface conditions.
ED-292A supersedes ED-292, published in 2021, and specifies the minimum performance requirements for Runway Weather Information Systems (RWIS). The document aligns with the ICAO Global Reporting Format (GRF) and has been updated to reflect operational experience gained since the original publication, as well as technological developments that have improved the industry’s understanding of runway condition reporting.
Congratulations to the experts of WG-109 “Runway Weather Information Systems” chaired by Arnaud Vare (Boschung), for their excellent work and dedication!
