New working group: WG-120 / Technical Means for identifying potential Covid-19 carriers among passengers

We are pleased to inform you that EUROCAE WG-120 “Technical Means for identifying potential Covid-19 carriers among passengers” has been created.
The Working Group will discuss and define the specification and parameters for sensors which could be used onboard commercial aircraft to monitor the temperature of passengers to a sufficiently high degree of accuracy, in order to highlight to the cabin crew when a passenger presents with a fever, The objective of this piece of equipment would be to provide passenger reassurance, and to serve the recovery of the aviation industry which relies on passenger confidence following the worldwide lockdown based on the Covid-19 pandemic. The Working Group will build on the framework driven by the ICAO “Collaborative Agreement for the Prevention and Management of Public Health Events in Civil Aviation” (CAPSCA), the EASA Aviation Industry Charter for COVID-19.
