We are pleased to announce the publication of ED-338 “Guide for Conducting a HIRF and Lightning Safety Assessment (HLSA)”.
The primary scope of WG-31 is to prepare technical standards, specifications, guides and any other material required to support the development of regulation and the certification of aircraft in relation to Electromagnetic hazards such as lightning protection, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), High Intensity Radiated Fields (HIRF) etc.
ED-338 describes a safety assessment methodology for the assessment of risks associated with High Intensity Radiated Fields (HIRF) and Lightning. This document is referenced by the HIRF and Lightning certification guidance/user manuals (ED-107B and ED-158A).
Congratulations to the experts of WG 31 Electromagnetic Hazards, chaired by Christelle Kutyla (Airbus), for their excellent work and dedication!
