We are pleased to announce the publication of ED-339 “NID Data Exchange ICD for indirect exchanges between USSPs and between USSPs and Authorised Users”.
WG-105 Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) is tasked to develop standards and guidance documents that will allow the safe operation of UAS in all types of airspace, at all times and for all types of operations.
ED-339 focuses exclusively on the indirect exchange approach for sharing Network Identification (#NID) data among USSPs and providing that data to other Authorised Users. It defines the interfaces required for this exchange, including the information data model, message structure, and communication protocols, ensuring consistency and interoperability. This document was developed to provide a framework fully aligned with the European U space regulation, while remaining applicable wherever NID information needs to be shared, including outside U space airspace or in jurisdictions beyond Europe.
Congratulations to the members of WG-105, chaired by Alexandra Florin (Wing Aviation) and Maurizio Goiak (Leonardo), for their excellent work and dedication!
