ED-348 provides guidelines for the use of multi-GNSS solutions for UAS in medium-risk SAIL III operations.
These guidelines build upon previous work developed by EUROCAE WG-105 / SG-6, including ED-301 “Guidelines for the Use of Multi-GNSS Solutions for UAS – Specific Category – Low Risk Operations SAIL I & II” (developed between 2019 and 2022), which supports the use of GNSS and the demonstration of compliance with SORA OSO#13 for low-risk operations. While OSO#13 also applies to higher SAIL operations within the Specific category, the associated assurance levels differ. This results in a different compliance approach compared to low-risk operations, leading to the development of a dedicated set of guidelines for medium-risk SAIL III UAS operations, which also provides guidance to comply with other GNSS-related OSOs, including OSO#05, OSO#08, OSO#23, and OSO#24.
