WHAT?
UAS Airworthiness and Safety Training
Operations of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) are rapidly expanding across civil aviation, covering a wide range of configurations, missions, and operational contexts.
In response to this evolution, European regulations introduced a risk-based framework in June 2019, defining three operational categories: Open, Specific and Certified. This structure now forms the basis of all UAS flight authorisation processes within Europe.
However, the regulatory environement – supported by evolving EASA guidance materials – can appear complex and difficult to navigate without structured training.
This courses provides a clear and structured overview of the UAS regulatory framework and explains how airworthiness and safety requirements apply in practice.
WHY?
Why attend this training?
- Gain a comprehensive understandinf of the latest UAS regulatory framework and flight approval/certification process.
- Identify operational risks linked to UAS activities and understand safety assessment principles.
- Apply a risk-based approach using design and/or operational mitigation measures.
- Prepare inputs to the Operational Risk Assessment in line with the JARUS SORA methodology, including the latest version 2.5.
- Understand how to support flight authorisation and certification processes in the Specific and Certified categories.
WHO?
Who should attend?
This course is designed for professionals involvec in the design, manufacturing, operation, or regulation of Unmanned Aicraft Systems, including:
- UAS manufacturers and system designers
- Operators and mission planners
- Regulatory aythorities and certification bodies
- Safety assessment and compliance specialists
- Project and technical managers involved in flight authorisation processes
It is particularly relevant for professionals who are actively engaged in (or facing challenges with) the UAS flight auhtorisation process.
