Press Release | EUROCAE and SAE International Sign Updated Memorandum of Cooperation
During the EUROCAE Symposium, on 28 April in Warsaw, representatives from global standards organisations EUROCAE and SAE International have signed an updated Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC).

The agreement will foster information exchange and cooperation in the aviation and aerospace sectors aiming to harness the expertise of stakeholders and to promote harmonization and interoperability in advancing technical solutions in global aviation.

The MoC was signed by EUROCAE Director General Anna von Groote and SAE International Senior Director of Standards David Alexander.
Anna von Groote expressed her appreciation of the collaboration and added that “consensus standards play an extremely important role in aviation. We are excited to strengthen our partnership with SAE International and look forward to the work we will perform together in support of the global aviation community.”

“The cooperation of global aviation stakeholders is an increasingly vital part of ensuring safety while facilitating innovation. As we support the community in advancing aviation technology and ensuring a sustainable future of flight, we value our productive and important partnership with EUROCAE and look forward to growing our cooperation,” noted David Alexander.

EUROCAE and SAE International look back at a long-standing partnership for the joint development of standards in support of global interoperability and aviation solutions. This updated MoC builds on the fruitful collaboration between SAE International and EUROCAE, and provides further clarification of the framework for joint standards development to the working groups and technical committees as well as to the organisations.

Today, about 10% of EUROCAE’s published standards and ongoing standards-development activities are carried out jointly with SAE International, such as:

WG-31 Electromagnetic hazards AE-2 Lightning Committee
WG-63 Complex Aircraft Systems S-18 Aircraft and Systems Development and Safety Assessment Committee
WG-80 Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Systems AE-7F Hydrogen and Fuel Cells
WG-95 Inflight Ice Detection Systems AC-9C Aircraft Icing Technology Committee
WG-112 SG-8 VTOL Seats SEAT Aircraft Seat committee
WG-114 Artificial Intelligence G-34 Artificial Intelligence in Aviation
WG-116 High Voltage AE-11 Aging Models for Electrical Insulation in High Energy Systems

Other areas of collaboration are under consideration.
