We are pleased to announce the availability of the following draft EUROCAE document prepared by EUROCAE WG-41 A-SMGCS:
- ED-349: Interoperability Standard for Data Exchange for A-SMGCS.
WG-41 addresses functionalities of Advanced Airport Surface Movement Guidance and Control Systems (A-SMGCS) described in the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 716/2014 on the establishment of the Pilot Common Project supporting the implementation of the European Air Traffic Management Master Plan (PCP). The working group also considers the latest developments on A-SMGCS resulting from SESAR projects and relevant current activities in other bodies, such as EUROCONTROL.
This document contains interoperability requirements for A-SMGCS and specifies system and equipment characteristics that should be useful to designers, installers, manufacturers, service providers and users of systems intended for operational use at aerodromes. This standard was produced with the knowledge of existing and proven installations, and in accordance with the latest results from research projects such as SESAR. The document is intended to enable implementation of a system at an aerodrome in accordance with the aerodrome’s operational requirements.
