- ED-340: MOPS for UAS Communications by Cellular Networks.
This document is joint with RTCA Special Committee 228. This Minimum Operational Performance Standard for 4G/5G Networks supporting Unmanned Aircraft Systems C2 Link System outlines the standards for airborne equipment using 3GPP Cellular Networks based on 4th Generation Long Term Evolution (4G LTE) and 5th Generation New Radio (5G NR) technologies. The primary focus is on supporting Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) for small package delivery and urban air taxi operations. Editing into full EUROCAE template will be done after Open Consultation. Open consultation will be closed the 7th of September 2025. Comments definition as a reminder: Non-Concur (NC) – Substantive comment of refusal or failure to concur with the content of the document. High (H), Medium (M), Low (L) – Substantive comment of high, medium or low importance regarding the content of the document. Editorial (E) – Comment of editorial nature regarding the wording of the document.
