We are pleased to announce the publication of ER-049 “Assessment of EUROCAE standards supporting the attestation of conformity of ATM/ANS equipment”.
The publication of Regulation (EU) 2023/1768 establishes the requirements for the attestation of ATM/ANS systems and ATM/ANS constituents (ATM/ANS equipment), completes the technical and interoperability framework to ensure the safety performance of civil aviation and operational/technical interoperability. To support this new framework, detailed technical and operational standards developed by EUROCAE should be used as a means of compliance for ATM/ANS equipment attestation and ATM/ANS operations. WG-130 is tasked to identify and facilitate development of standards and related deliverables, including a coordinating role in consolidating standards developments by other existing WG, to support the attestation of ATM/ANS equipment and ATM/ANS operations.
The purpose of this document is to analyse the suitability of the existing EUROCAE standards to support safe and interoperable operations in the context of Regulation (EU) 2023/1768, to identify relevant standards developed by other standards development organisations, and the identification of potential standardisation needs to support the Air Traffic Management (ATM) and Air Navigation Services (ANS) Conformity Assessment Framework.
Congratulations to the experts of WG-130 “ATM/ANS Supporting Standards”, established by the EUROCAE Council in October 2024. The Working Group is chaired by José Luis García Chico (EASA) and Pascal Rohault (Thales), whose leadership and dedication made this publication possible.
