We are pleased to announce the publication of ER-042 “Discussions related to Aeronautical Information System Security (AISS) Standards”.

The primary scope of WG-72 is to develop guidance supporting the security of aeronautical systems by defining security objectives rather than specific technical solutions. Adopting a holistic approach, the Working Group addresses security considerations across the entire lifecycle of airborne and interfacing ground systems, contributing to the safe and secure integration of civil aviation systems.

ER-042 provides clarification on the guidance presented in ED-203A/DO-356A “Airworthiness Security Methods and Considerations.” The document answers frequently asked industry questions regarding the application of ED-202B/DO-326B and ED-203A/DO-356A in aircraft programmes, helping ensure a consistent interpretation of the standards. It also includes detailed discussion papers that provide further explanation of complex topics where additional guidance is beneficial.
