We are pleased to announce the publication of ED-352 “Considerations for Lightning Zoning of VTOL-Capable Aircraft”.
The primary scope of WG-112 VTOL is to develop industry standards supporting the certification of Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) aircraft as Acceptable Means of Compliance for the EASA Special Condition on VTOL.
ED-352 provides guidance for defining lightning strike zones on VTOL-capable aircraft by applying established lightning zoning principles for rotorcraft and fixed-wing aircraft to the unique designs and operating characteristics of VTOLs.
Congratulations to the experts of WG-112 SG-9 “Electromagnetic Hazards“, chaired by Philip Blagden (CAA/SRG), for their excellent work and dedication!
