EUROCAE

Call for Interest

EUROCAE Working Group 51/SG-3

ADS-B

EUROCAE is launching this Call for Interest to inform interested parties about the a new activity and to provide a possibility to nominate participants.

EUROCAE WG-51/SG-3 will work on the following deliverables:

  • Change 1 to ED-194A/DO-317B (by December 2018): correction of issues encountered with ‘TSAA’ test vectors (Traffic Situational Awareness with Alerts), as well as other maintenance actions (incl. an update to Annex H)
  • ED-194B/DO-317C (by December 2019): review and addition of ‘CAVS’ requirements (CDTI Assisted Visual Separation) to support dependent parallel runway applications. This implies some linkages with the ‘FIM’ application (e.g. with respect to traffic prioritization schemes)

  • ED-236A/DO-361A: MOPS for Flight-Deck Interval Management (FIM) by December 2019

Background

One part of the EUROCAE WG-51 activities is concerned with the development of ‘ADS-B In’ application and system standard material. This is performed within Sub-Group 3 (SG-3) of WG-51, jointly with Working Group 4 of RTCA SC-186.

These groups have already released a number of documents, amongst which are the following standards that are subject to this Call for Interest:

  •  ED-194A/DO-317B: MOPS for Aircraft Surveillance Applications (ASA) System
  • ED-195A/DO-328A: SPR Document for Airborne Spacing – Flight Deck Interval Management (FIM)
  • ED-236/DO-361: MOPS for Flight-Deck Interval Management (FIM)

RTCA SC-186 has already updated their ToR to include the following deliverables:

  • DO-328B (ED-195B): SPR Document for Airborne Spacing – Flight Deck Interval Management (FIM) by December 2019
  • DO-361A (ED-236A): MOPS for Flight-Deck Interval Management (FIM) by December 2019

With respect to the maintenance of ED-194A/DO-317B, the following DO-317 revision steps are intended:

  • Change 1 to ED-194A/DO-317B (by December 2018): correction of issues encountered with ‘TSAA’ test vectors (Traffic Situational Awareness with Alerts), as well as other maintenance actions (incl. an update to Annex H);

As all documents are joint developments, EUROCAE and RTCA also want to develop the revisions in a joint manner once the activity has been approved by the EUROCAE TAC.

Please note that in addition to active participation in the drafting work of WG-51/SG-3 we are also seeking for someone to lead the editing activities for the various documents. Please indicate you interest accordingly when completing the form.

If your company has the necessary expertise in this field and is interested in a contribution to this activity, please complete the Registration form the latest by Friday, 13 July 2018.

The actual start of this new activity within WG-51 will be announced at a later date once it has been approved by the TAC.

  • DO-328B (ED-195B): SPR Document for Airborne Spacing – Flight Deck Interval Management (FIM) by December 2019.

  • DO-361A (ED-236A): MOPS for Flight-Deck Interval Management (FIM) by December 2019.
