New Publication: ED-242D "MASPS for AMS(R)S Data and Voice Communications Supporting Required Communications Performance (RCP) and Required Surveillance Performance (RSP)"

We are pleased to announce the publication of ED-242D “MASPS for AMS(R)S Data and Voice Communications Supporting Required Communications Performance (RCP) and Required Surveillance Performance (RSP)”.

ED-242D supersedes ED-242C (2021). This document contains Minimum Aviation System Performance Standards (MASPS) for Aeronautical Mobile Satellite (Route) Services (AMS(R)S) that provide safety communications to aircraft in airspace where 1) procedural separation is applied or 2) ATS surveillance services are provided. The main changes from the previous revision are that the actual Inmarsat SBB & Iridium Certus MASPS material is updated with respect to SATCOM system improvements, and ATN-IPS technical material has been added.

A huge thank you to WG-82 “New Air-Ground Data Link Technologies”, chaired by Radek Zaruba (Honeywell), for their exceptional work!
