EUROCAE Technical Advisory Committee

The role of the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) is to advice the Council on technical matters and to support, when required, the General Secretariat regarding the Working Groups technical supervision.

Composition of the TAC:

  • A chairman appointed by the EUROCAE Council.
  • 12 members appointed among Full Members companies or organisations by the Council for a period of two years (renewable). Each of them, having a high technical position in their Company or Organisation, is responsible for a specific technical domain of interest for EUROCAE. These domains are: “Aircraft Regulatory Authority”, “ATM Regulatory Authority”, “Aircraft Manufacturer” (2 representatives), “Equipment manufacturers” (4 representatives: (Avionics, Aircraft non-Avionic, Ground Equipment, Aircraft Systems), “Air Traffic Service Providers”, “Airlines users” and “R & D”.
  • General Secretariat management: The Secretary General, as member, and the Technical Secretary, as TAC secretary, are permanent TAC members.

The main responsibilities of the TAC are:

  • to prepare the future technical strategy of EUROCAE (called the “Technical Work Program”),
  • to conduct feasibility studies regarding the creation or re-orientation of EUROCAE Working Groups and to advice accordingly the Council in its approval decision,
  • to draft Discussion paper (Dp) in preparation of WG or Task Forces (TF) objectives and specifically, Terms of Reference. These are used as support by the Council in its approval decisions,
  • to recommend changes on the content and architecture of EUROCAE Standards and other documents.

TAC meetings are planned around two weeks prior to each Council.
